Family members and local residents in Hub Chowki report that a Baloch woman has been detained during a recent raid and moved to an undisclosed location. Activists describe this incident as part of a growing pattern of enforced disappearances involving Baloch women.
According to sources, personnel from the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), along with other law enforcement officials, raided a residence in the Daru Hotel area of Zehri Ghot, Hub Chowki, on Thursday evening. During the operation, they reportedly detained a woman before transferring her to an unknown location.
The woman has been identified as Hajira Baloch, wife of Sanaullah. Her family members have stated that they have not been informed about her whereabouts and have received no updates since her detention, leaving them deeply worried and distressed.
This development coincides with the case of Nasreen (also spelled Nasreena) Baloch, a 15-year-old girl who has been missing since November 22, 2025. Her family held a press conference on Thursday, demanding her release and accusing authorities of refusing to register a case.
Nasreen’s relatives alleged that around midnight on November 22, approximately 15 armed individuals forcibly entered their home and abducted her. They claimed that five of the intruders were dressed in Frontier Corps (FC) uniforms, while others wore plainclothes. A woman was also said to have accompanied the group.
The family described how the armed men vandalized their house, scattered belongings, and locked family members inside a room before taking Nasreen away. Since then, no information about her has been provided, and she has not been presented before any authority despite 27 days passing.
They further accused police of refusing to file a First Information Report (FIR), despite submitting a written application immediately after the incident. Exhausted by legal avenues, the family has now turned to the media and is appealing to authorities and government institutions for her immediate release. They emphasized that if any accusations exist against her, she should be produced in court and subjected to a fair and transparent investigation in accordance with the law.
There has been no official response to the allegations concerning either case.
Dr. Sabiha Baloch, a leader of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), stated on X that Hajira Baloch’s detention marks the fifth case of enforced disappearance involving a Baloch woman this year. She described these cases as part of a “deliberate state policy of unlawful detention and enforced disappearance.”
In her post, Dr. Sabiha listed previous cases: Mahjabeen Baloch, taken from Quetta on May 29; Nasreen Baloch, abducted from Hub Chowki on November 22; Raheema Baloch, taken from Dalbandin on December 9; and Farzana Baloch, taken from Khuzdar on December 1.
She argued that the addition of these cases highlights a systematic pattern of repression and collective punishment against Baloch women. Dr. Sabiha called on international human rights organizations, including the United Nations, to intervene and hold Pakistani authorities accountable for these abuses.
