The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has released a new video displaying Pakistani Army personnel it claims are in its custody. The footage has been shared on the group’s official channel, Hakkal, and shows the detained soldiers presenting their service cards and national identity documents to the camera. In the video, the soldiers appeal to their authorities, asserting their status and requesting recognition.
In the footage, the captured servicemen state that they were formally recruited, issued official documentation, and assigned to various locations within Pakistan. They express confusion and frustration over the current situation, questioning how the authorities are now refusing to acknowledge their service and identities. The video aims to highlight what the group claims is the mistreatment or neglect of these personnel.
The BLA had earlier issued a seven-day deadline for a prisoner exchange, which it described as involving “prisoners of war.” The group has emphasized the urgency of the situation, noting that only three days remain before the deadline expires. This deadline has heightened tensions and added pressure on both sides to reach a resolution.
This development comes amid recent claims by the BLA that it captured several Pakistani military personnel during coordinated attacks across Balochistan. The group referred to these operations as “Operation Herof 2.0,” suggesting a strategic and ongoing campaign against Pakistani forces in the region.
There has been no official confirmation from Pakistani authorities regarding the number of personnel allegedly in custody. Likewise, the government and military spokespersons have yet to issue any formal response concerning the video or the deadline set by the BLA.
The situation remains tense, with both sides maintaining their positions. The release of the video and the looming deadline have added an element of uncertainty, raising concerns about potential escalation in the ongoing conflict in Balochistan.
