A 13-year-old boy named Amanullah, son of the disappeared Inayatullah Bangulzai, has reportedly been subjected to enforced disappearance in Quetta. This information was relayed to the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) through a complaint. Family members and witnesses have raised concerns about Amanullah’s sudden disappearance and the circumstances surrounding it.
According to reports, Asad Bangulzai, the brother of Inayatullah Bangulzai, contacted VBMP to share that Amanullah was taken away by personnel of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on the night of February 20. The incident occurred in Killi Jeo, Quetta, where Amanullah was reportedly detained without any formal notice or explanation. Family members are distressed and worried about his whereabouts.
Inayatullah Bangulzai, Amanullah’s father, has a history of enforced disappearance, which adds to the family’s anguish. He was detained by personnel of the Frontier Corps (FC) on May 23, 2014, from the Splinji area. Despite the issuance of a production order by the relevant commission demanding his recovery, Inayatullah has yet to be seen or heard from again, and his whereabouts remain unknown.
The VBMP has expressed grave concern over the enforced disappearance of the minor boy and his father. The organization has called on the authorities to take immediate action to ensure their safe and swift recovery. They emphasized the need for justice and accountability in cases of enforced disappearances, especially involving minors and their families who continue to suffer from the ongoing violations.
