Late Rehman Malik, former IG FC Major General Ubaid Ullah Khattak, and his predecessor used to say the same about missing persons, as did military spokespersons.
Over two decades, they have been repeating and reiterating the same old script. Sadly, no journalists, politicians, or rights activists have dared to ask where these missing persons are, in which country they went in search of jobs, how they crossed the border, and when. For example, let’s say those who crossed borders in search of employment. Why have they never returned or contacted their families? By now, they should have returned with lots of wealth.
