BLF claims four killed in Gwadar and Jhao, launches rockets at Turbat Naval Base

The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) reported that four Pakistani personnel were killed in separate attacks in Gwadar and Jhao, while rockets were launched at a naval camp in Turbat. These incidents highlight ongoing tensions and militant activities in the region, which the group claims are part of their broader struggle for Balochistan’s liberation.

According to a media statement from the BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch, four army personnel were ambushed on March 12 while traveling on two motorcycles between the Domb and Mirjat areas of Gwadar. The militants targeted the convoy, killing three soldiers instantly and seriously injuring a fourth. The group alleged that the attacked personnel were involved in extorting oil traders, accusing Pakistani forces of exploiting local transporters through illegal collections from oil vehicles.

Major Gwahram Baloch further claimed that the targeted individuals were engaged in economic exploitation, which the BLF opposes as part of its resistance against what it describes as Pakistani oppression. The group accuses the Pakistani military of using extortion and economic pressure as tools to control and exploit the region’s resources and local populations.

On the same day, the BLF launched an attack on a naval camp in Turbat city, firing two 107mm rockets. The group stated that both projectiles struck inside the military compound, resulting in “heavy casualties and material losses.” The attack, according to the BLF, was intended to demonstrate that Pakistani forces are not safe from their reach anywhere in Balochistan, emphasizing their ongoing campaign against what they call the occupying forces.

In addition to these recent attacks, the BLF recalled an earlier incident on March 6, where a soldier was shot dead at a military checkpoint in Jhao’s Gazzi area. The group described this as a sniper operation, continuing their pattern of targeting Pakistani military personnel and strategic locations as part of their resistance campaign.

The BLF reaffirmed its commitment to continue targeting Pakistani forces and their economic interests until Balochistan is liberated. The group views these attacks as part of their broader struggle for independence, asserting that their actions are aimed at resisting occupation and ending exploitation. Pakistani authorities have not yet responded publicly to these claims, leaving the situation tense and unresolved.
