The bail of Mahal Baloch, a Baloch woman who was forcibly disappeared from her home in Quetta on the night of February 17 and was later arrested by CDT, was approved by the court.
On the forced disappearance and arrest of Mahal Baloch, protests and sit-ins were held in different areas of Balochistan, while political and social circles rejected his arrest and allegations through press conferences and statements in this regard.
Various circles have expressed their concerns against the forced disappearance and detention of Mahal Baloch, while the Baloch parliamentary parties, including the government, have faced severe criticism.
CTD claimed to arrest Mahal Baloch as a suicide bomber. The relatives of Mahal Baloch rejected these allegations by setting up a protest camp in Quetta red zone along with the students. Later in April, a video of Mahal was released by Hum News in which she was forcefully made to confess about her association with BLF.
Against the arrest of Mahal Baloch, protests were held by various students and political organizations in other cities of Pakistan including Balochistan. Her supporters came out in large numbers.
The protesters demanded that the practice of targeting women as collective punishment in Balochistan should be abandoned.
