The Sindhudesh Revolutionary Army (SRA) has claimed responsibility for a hand grenade attack on the Naseem Nagar police station in Hyderabad last night. The group’s spokesperson, Sodho Sindhi, issued a statement to the media explaining the motive behind the attack. The SRA described the incident as a warning to those they accuse of oppressing Sindh and its people.
In the statement, Sodho Sindhi alleged that the Pakistani “Punjabi state” is implementing a plan to fully occupy Sindh’s land, natural resources, and the Indus River. He accused the Sindh police of playing a key role in executing this plan, framing them as collaborators in a campaign of “genocide” against the Sindhi nation. The spokesperson further claimed that police are actively involved in suppressing Sindh’s political movements and protests.
Sodho Sindhi criticized the Sindh police for their alleged involvement in violence, arbitrary arrests, enforced disappearances, and targeted killings of Sindhi political activists. He pointed to recent incidents, including the killing of two Sindhi youths by police in Moro, as evidence of police complicity in state-led repression. The statement painted police forces as agents working in concert with the Pakistani military establishment to oppress Sindh’s national aspirations.
Specifically, the SRA spokesperson accused the Hyderabad police, especially the Naseem Nagar station, of violently dispersing protests and sit-ins at Vadhu Wah Bypass. He claimed that police have been instrumental in arresting and disappearing political workers, aligning themselves with what he termed the “Punjabi colonial system.” The attack on the police station was described as a final warning to police officers engaged in what the group calls “anti-Sindh activities.”
The statement concluded with a firm declaration of the SRA’s commitment to armed resistance until Sindh achieves complete national liberation. Sodho Sindhi warned police and security personnel to cease their cooperation with the state or face further consequences from the “defensive army of Sindh.” No official response has yet been received from law enforcement or government authorities regarding the attack or the SRA’s claims.
