A 16-year-old schoolgirl has been reportedly abducted in Balochistan’s Khuzdar district. According to local sources, unidentified armed men kidnapped Sidra, the daughter of Allah Bakhsh, from Khattan Girls High School in Khuzdar and took her to an unknown location. The incident is said to have occurred on September 11 while the girl was present at the school. Her current whereabouts remain unknown, and she has not been seen or heard from since the incident.
No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the alleged abduction. At the time of filing this report, there was no official statement from authorities regarding the case. The lack of clarity and official confirmation has added to concerns about the safety of women and girls in the region, where such incidents have become increasingly alarming.
This case adds to a broader pattern of concerns raised by rights groups and political organizations about violence and disappearances involving women and girls in Balochistan. Families and advocacy groups have reported numerous cases in recent years where women have been allegedly taken into custody or have gone missing under suspicious circumstances, often without any accountability or clarity about their fate.
In April this year, two women—Sameena Baloch from Khuzdar and Gul Banuk from Kech—were reportedly abducted during separate incidents. Family members and rights organizations have stated that these women remain unaccounted for, raising serious concerns about enforced disappearances and the lack of transparency in such cases. These incidents have heightened fears about the safety and security of women in the region.
Several other cases involving Baloch women have also attracted attention in recent years. Human rights organizations have accused authorities of fabricating terrorism-related charges against some women who were previously reported missing. Families and rights groups have expressed concerns over the due process, legal safeguards, and the transparency of investigations in these cases.
Various human rights groups, including the Human Rights Council of Balochistan (HRCB), Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP), Baloch Women Forum (BWF), and Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), have repeatedly demanded that the whereabouts of missing women be disclosed. They have called for detainees to be produced before courts if they are being held on criminal charges, emphasizing the need for accountability and justice for the victims and their families.
