Allegations have surfaced regarding the forced disappearance of four individuals following their apprehension in the Awaran and Mastung districts of Balochistan by Pakistani forces on Wednesday.
Reports indicate that a man and his son were purportedly taken into custody in the Jhal Chedgi area and subsequently relocated to an undisclosed location. The detainees have been identified as Majeed and Ajeem, the son of Majeed.
In a separate incident, Salam Qambarani was allegedly arrested by Pakistani forces from Peerandar Awaran and likewise transported to an undisclosed location. Another case of enforced disappearance involves the detention of a youth named Mohammad Alizai in Mastung district, as reported by the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP). The organization, dedicated to advocating against enforced disappearances in Balochistan, confirmed the incident and stated that the youth was taken into custody by Pakistani forces from his home on 2nd February.
As of now, government authorities and military officials have neither confirmed nor denied these allegations. Enforced disappearances are unfortunately not uncommon in Balochistan, with six additional cases reported on the same day from various parts of the region. Families of Baloch missing persons continue their protests for the safe recovery of their loved ones, including an ongoing sit-in on D-Baloch Highway near Turbat, which has been in progress for the last eight days, demanding the safe return of those recently disappeared.
