A protest rally was held in Khuzdar district of Balochistan on Saturday to demand justice for student Asif Baloch, who has been allegedly disappeared by Pakistani forces. The rally saw participation from family members and local residents who voiced their concerns over his continued absence.
Asif Baloch, a resident of Khuzdar, was reportedly taken by Pakistani security forces from the Emaan City area of Samungli Road in Quetta on July 13. Since his disappearance, no official information has been provided about his current whereabouts, raising serious concerns among his family and community.
The family members emphasized that Asif Baloch’s enforced disappearance without being produced before a court violates legal procedures and fundamental human rights. They called on authorities to immediately disclose his location and ensure his safe recovery.
During the protest, the family demanded that Asif be produced before a court if there are any charges against him. They urged authorities to follow legal protocols and uphold the rights of the detained individual, emphasizing that no one should be subjected to enforced disappearance.
The family also appealed to the United Nations, the international community, and human rights organizations to intervene in the case. They urged these bodies to press for his immediate recovery and to hold accountable those responsible for his enforced disappearance. There has been no official response to the allegations so far.
