The Baloch National Movement (BNM) has announced plans to conduct a comprehensive awareness campaign during the 54th United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) session in Geneva. The campaign aims to shed light on the grave human rights violations taking place in Balochistan at the hands of Pakistan and raise global awareness about the struggles faced by the Baloch people. The BNM has organized an exhibition, a protest demonstration, and a social media campaign to draw attention to the dire situation in the region.
From September 28 to 30, the BNM will host an exhibition at the UNHRC session in Geneva. This exhibition will serve as a platform to showcase the tragic story of human rights violations in Balochistan. It will highlight the atrocities committed against the Baloch people and provide evidence of their ongoing struggles. Through visual displays, testimonies, and documented reports, the exhibition aims to bring awareness among international delegates and visitors about Balochistan’s deteriorating state of human rights.
On September 28, the BNM has scheduled a two-hour protest demonstration from 2 PM to 4 PM, set to take place outside the UNHRC session venue in Geneva, specifically at the Broken Chair. The BNM intends to gather supporters, activists, and concerned individuals to express solidarity with the Baloch people and call for immediate action from the international community. The protest aims to draw attention to the plight of the Baloch and put pressure on relevant authorities and gain international attention to address the ongoing violations.
In addition to the exhibition and protest demonstration, the BNM has called upon its members and supporters to leverage social media platforms to spread awareness about the campaign. Through various online channels, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, the BNM aims to reach a wider audience and engage individuals from around the world. By sharing images, videos, and informative content related to the human rights situation in Balochistan, the BNM hopes to generate global support and solidarity for the Baloch cause.
The Baloch National Movement’s upcoming awareness campaign at the United Nations Human Rights Council session in Geneva will be highlighting gross human rights violations occurring in Balochistan. Through an exhibition, protest demonstration, and social media campaign, the BNM aims to garner international attention and support for the struggles faced by the Baloch people. The campaign seeks to hold accountable those responsible for the ongoing violations and urges the international community to take immediate action against Pakistan’s draconian policies.
Meanwhile, during last week’s 54th regular session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, Dr. Naseem Baloch, Chairman of the Baloch National Movement, delivered a compelling plea for immediate attention to the severe human rights violations being perpetrated in Balochistan by Pakistani forces.
During the General Debate on promoting and protecting all human rights, civil, political, economic, social, and cultural rights, including the right to development, Dr. Baloch emphasized the critical situation faced by the Baloch. He outlined the brutal genocide, including enforced disappearances, killings, torture, intimidation, and home destruction that the Baloch population endures daily.
Citing the human rights department of BNM Paank, Dr. Baloch reported chilling statistics, stating that 64 forced disappearances and three killings were recorded in Balochistan in August alone.
