Dr. Mahrang Baloch, a prominent human rights activist, recently met with the children of Nobel laureate Narges Mohammadi and journalist Elisabeth Eide in Norway. Dr. Mahrang is in the country to participate in a human rights and activism program.
During a reception dinner hosted by the Norwegian Helsinki Committee, Dr. Mahrang had the opportunity to meet with Narges Mohammadi’s children, who she described as an “honour” to meet. The event was presided over by Jørgen Watne Frydnes, head of the Norwegian Nobel Prize Committee and Secretary General of Norsk PEN.
Dr. Mahrang also expressed her gratitude for meeting Elisabeth Eide, a Norwegian journalist and former professor. She noted that women in Iran and Balochistan face similar challenges, and hopes that these meetings will continue and lead to further cooperation in the future.
The program in Norway is set to begin tomorrow and will run for three days, with participants from around the world expected to attend.
