Two armed groups advocating for Baloch independence have claimed responsibility for separate attacks targeting Pakistani security forces and infrastructure in different areas of Balochistan. These incidents highlight ongoing unrest and the persistent struggle for independence in the region.
The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) issued a statement detailing their involvement in an attack on a Frontier Corps camp in the Bibi Nani area of Bolan district. The assault occurred around 8:30 pm on December 10. According to the group, fighters approached the camp from two directions and used heavy, modern weapons to carry out the attack.
Major Gwahram Baloch, a spokesperson for the BLF, explained that rocket-propelled grenades were used to strike targets within the camp. The attack resulted in a fire, which caused casualties among the security forces and inflicted material damage on the military installation.
In addition to the attack on the Frontier Corps camp, the BLF also claimed responsibility for a grenade attack on a police checkpoint in Chagai Bazaar. This incident took place around 9:30 pm on December 7. The group stated that the grenade was thrown inside the checkpoint, damaging police vehicles and the infrastructure of the checkpoint itself.
Separately, the Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) announced that they had targeted a government construction company operating at Zero Point in Dera Allah Yar. In a statement released to the media, BRG spokesperson Dostain Baloch reported that explosive material had been planted at the site, leading to human casualties and material losses for the military-linked construction firm.
Both groups reiterated their resolve to continue their armed struggle until what they describe as the “complete withdrawal of occupying Pakistan forces from Balochistan.” As of the time of publication, Pakistani authorities had not issued any official statements addressing the claims made by either group.
