The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has claimed responsibility for two recent armed confrontations with alleged state-backed militias and Pakistani security forces in the regions of Awaran and Kolwah, Balochistan. The group reports that several enemy combatants were either killed or wounded during these operations, emphasizing their ongoing resistance against what they describe as occupation by Pakistani forces.
According to a statement from BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch, a reconnaissance unit of the BLF was targeted on July 18 in the Zarbari mountain range of Gishang, Kolwah. The group identified the attackers as members of a “death squad” supported by the state. During the firefight, BLF fighters reportedly wounded two of the assailants, causing them to retreat. The BLF declared that there were no casualties among their fighters and that they withdrew safely from the scene.
In a separate incident on the night of July 22, around 2:00 a.m., BLF fighters launched a coordinated attack on two Pakistani military checkpoints at the Jak mountain post in the Tirtej region of Awaran district. The group claims to have used heavy weaponry at close range, inflicting heavy damage on the posts, killing three soldiers, and injuring several others. The remaining personnel are said to have abandoned their positions and retreated to a nearby base under cover of darkness, according to the BLF.
The group has taken full responsibility for both attacks, reaffirming its commitment to armed resistance against what it calls the “occupying” Pakistani military in Balochistan. The BLF’s spokesperson called on Baloch youth to avoid aligning with state forces and instead join the resistance, urging them to actively defend their land and participate in the ongoing struggle for Balochistan’s independence.
