The Baloch Women Forum (BWF) has strongly condemned a recent rocket launcher attack on the residence of civilian Jangiyan Baloch in the Balicha area of Tump Tehsil, district Kech. The organization described the assault as a grave threat to the safety of civilians and the overall social stability of the region. The attack resulted in injuries to three members of Baloch’s family his son Nawaz Jangiyan, daughter-in-law Ayesha Mulla Raza, and wife Modho Naik Bakht highlighting the serious impact on innocent civilians.
In their statement issued on Monday, the BWF accused locally active armed groups, often called “death squads,” of carrying out the attack. The forum alleged that these groups operate with the alleged protection of law enforcement agencies, which enables them to act with impunity. The BWF emphasized that such groups are effectively given a free hand to destabilize the social fabric of the area, functioning without accountability and with backing from state institutions.
The organization also expressed deep concern over the broader security situation in Tump, describing it as one of the most troubled areas in Balochistan. It pointed to ongoing issues such as target killings, enforced disappearances, and attacks on civilians, which collectively contribute to the increasing lawlessness and insecurity in the region. The BWF called for urgent attention to restore peace and uphold the safety of local communities.
The Baloch Women Forum demanded for the following actions:-
- An immediate end to what it described as “illegal privileges” granted to armed militias.
- A permanent halt to human rights violations in Tump and the wider Balochistan region.
- A transparent and impartial inquiry into the rocket attack on Jangiyan Baloch’s home, with legal action against the perpetrators.
- Medical and financial assistance for the injured and their family.
