The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has condemned the ongoing state-sponsored violence that has been oppressing the Baloch people for over seven decades. The committee stated that the region has been transformed into a war zone, subjecting Baloch individuals to daily repression, including enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and the destruction of entire communities. Despite international calls for justice, the BYC asserts that the Baloch people continue to endure brutalities at the hands of Pakistan’s security forces.
In a recent post on X, the BYC remarked, “What we see today is not new, but the continuation of decades-old policies designed to oppress the Baloch people, exploit their resources and perpetuate their genocide. These actions are carried out under the pretense of national security, but their real purpose is to maintain dominance and deny the people of Balochistan their rightful say over their land and future.”
The committee further emphasized the dire situation of children in Balochistan, who are growing up in an environment filled with fear and insecurities. The young population faces limited access to education and essential facilities while being deprived of job opportunities and livelihoods. As a result, many resort to protesting against the state. Entire communities find themselves stuck in a cycle of poverty, grief, and survival, with little hope for change. The state’s actions, they argue, echo colonial control, treating the Baloch people not as citizens with rights but as obstacles to be subdued.
The BYC lamented, “This is not just a military operation; it is an attack on the very existence of the Baloch nation. By targeting its economy, destroying its social fabric, and silencing its voices, the state is effectively waging a war to erase the Baloch identity.”
In light of the intensified military operations, the BYC has called for resistance and pledged to protect the identity of the Baloch nation. They strongly urge the global community, the United Nations, and all humanitarian organizations worldwide to intervene on a humanitarian basis to prevent the genocide of the Baloch people.
