Conference: Abuse of Rights in Pakistan

Press Release Baloch People’s Congress, Baloch Voice Association, and Voice for Baloch Missing Persons Joint Conferences in Bonn, Frankfurt, Geneva and Amsterdam to raise voices on ongoing atrocity crimes against Baloch people.

Enforced disappearances, torture, kill & dump practices by the state of Pakistan, have plagued Balochistan, leaving families shattered and communities devastated. With this series of conference in different countries of Europe, the organizing associations aim to shed light on the plight of the the Baloch people facing genocide and generate awareness about the ongoing struggle for justice and accountability.

Frankfurt, Bonn Germany/Amsterdam, Netherlands, Geneva Switzerland from June 19, 2023 – July 2, 2023 The Baloch People’s Congress, Baloch Voice Association, and Voice for Baloch Missing Persons cordially invite the Baloch people, friends and sympathizers to participate in these conferences to address the pressing issues faced by the Baloch community. The conferences will take place in Bonn Germany on June 20, in Frankfurt Germany on June 21, Amsterdam June 23, Geneva Banner exhibition June 26-28, Geneva Conference June 30, featuring esteemed speakers and activists dedicated to highlighting the challenges faced in Balochistan, Frankfurt conference titled “Resistance against Mass Enforced Disappearances in Balochistan” will commence at 15:00. Activists and members of the press are invited to participate and join in the discussion surrounding enforced disappearances, genocide, human rights abuses, and war crimes in the conflict-hit region of Balochistan. The conference will be followed by a networking dinner, providing an opportunity for participants to connect and foster collaboration.

On June 23, 2023, in Amsterdam, Netherlands, the conference titled “Region Marred by Geo-Strategies: China’s Strategic Depth Policy” will begin at 15:00. The event will shed light on Pakistan’s strategic policies, including enforced disappearances, human rights abuses, military operations, resource plundering, colonization, and forced demographic changes in Balochistan. A networking dinner will follow the conference, fostering further engagement among attendees.

Following the conferences, the organizers will travel to Geneva, where they will deliver speeches and present factual information on the Baloch Genocide to the United Nations. This crucial step aims to draw global attention to the atrocities committed in Balochistan and advocate for justice and accountability.

In conjunction with the 53rd HRC session, a photo banners exhibition titled “Baloch’s Shrill Cries Are Falling on Deaf Ears” will be held at the Broken Chair, UN Geneva, from June 26 to June 28. This exhibition, organized by Baloch People’s Congress, Baloch Voice Association, and Voice for Baloch Missing Persons, will serve as a visual representation of the ongoing struggles faced by the Baloch community.

Leaders of Baloch, Kurd, Sindhi, Afghan, Kashmiri Uyghur and European Union will also participate in solidarity with the Baloch Nation.

Key Speakers at the conferences include:

• Rajbanuk Naela Quadri Baloch: The Prime Minister of the Government of Balochistan in Exile, Rajbanuk Naela Quadri Baloch is an unwavering advocate for Baloch rights and the freedom of Balochistan. Her lifelong dedication to the cause has made her an influential international figure, with a notable presence in various platforms advocating for Balochistan.

• Mama Qadeer Baloch: As the Vice President of Voice for Baloch Missing Persons, Mama Qadeer Baloch has tirelessly campaigned for awareness and justice for victims and families affected by enforced disappearances. Having personally experienced the loss of his son to enforced disappearance, he has undertaken remarkable endeavors such as the long March from Quetta to Islamabad and the establishment of a protest camp in Quetta, spanning over 5000 days.

• Waja Siddik Azad Baloch: A respected Baloch leader, writer, poet, and linguist of the Balochi language, Waja Siddik Azad Baloch is widely recognized for his contributions to the Baloch community. Founder of Baloch Warna Wanenda Gal, later evolving into Baloch Students Organization BSO, he currently serves as the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Balochistan in Exile as one of the founding fathers and Secretary-General of Baloch People’s Congress.

• Waja Munir Mengal, head of the Baloch Voice Association Baloch representative in the United Nations as a prominent voice advocating for the rights of Balochistan As a survivor of enforced disappearance and torture himself, Waja Munir Mengal has emerged as one of the most prominent and influential advocates for the Baloch people’s rights. With a strong presence as a UN intervention speaker, Waja Munir Mengal has consistently used his platform to shed light on the ongoing genocide and the struggle for freedom in Balochistan. He has organized numerous conferences and initiatives.

Ehsan Arjemandi, a remarkable figure in the realm of human rights activism, emerges as a beacon of resilience and determination. Hailing from a Norwegian-Baloch background, Arjemandi embarked on a courageous journey to Balochistan with a mission to gather crucial data on enforced disappearances plaguing the region. However, fate dealt him a cruel hand as he himself became a victim of this sinister practice. For a harrowing twelve years, he remained missing, bearing witness to the very horrors he sought to expose. Yet, upon his long-awaited return, Arjemandi transformed his own suffering into a powerful catalyst for change. Eagerly, he raised his voice and actively championed the cause of those who continue to languish in detention centers, subjected to unspeakable acts of torture. Through his unwavering commitment, Ehsan Arjemandi has become an emblem of resilience, reminding us of the enduring spirit that propels the fight for justice and human rights.
