Citizens of Mangochar and families of missing persons organized a sit-in protest in the Mangochar area of Balochistan’s Kalat district, advocating for the safe return of Baloch missing individuals. This protest resulted in the temporary blockage of the Quetta to Karachi highway, stranding hundreds of vehicles and thousands of passengers on both sides of the road.
The demonstrators were demanding the safe release of individuals such as Shahan Baloch, Naveed Baloch, Muhammad Hassan Langaw, Kifayatullah Nichari, Qazafi Nichari, and others who have gone missing.
The participants of the sit-in emphasized the importance of locating and presenting all missing loved ones before the courts to end the suffering and distress that they have endured.
It’s worth noting that these families had previously protested in Mangochar for the recovery of the aforementioned missing persons. They had called off their protest after receiving assurances from government authorities, but there have been no significant developments since that time.
As of the most recent reports, the protesters continue to block the highway, and there have been no attempts at negotiation from the administration authorities.
