Unidentified armed men abducted the Station House Officer (SHO) of Mal Police Station from the Ahmed Wal area of Nushki late on Tuesday. This incident marks yet another in a series of abductions targeting police and government officials across Balochistan in recent days. The abduction has raised serious concerns about the security situation in the region, with authorities unable to identify or apprehend the attackers.
The officer, identified as Mir Manda Khan Mandai, was taken to an undisclosed location, according to local sources. His abduction has added to the growing list of officials who have been targeted, highlighting the increasing insecurity faced by law enforcement personnel in the province.
Just days before, on Saturday, armed men had abducted acting SHO ASI Gul Shah Khan Mohammad Hasni in Chagai. This incident was part of a recent surge in similar cases where police officers and officials have been forcibly taken away by unidentified armed groups.
Over the past week, several other officials have fallen victim to abductions in different parts of Balochistan. Kharan Deputy Commissioner Muneer Ahmed Soomro was kidnapped on Sunday while traveling from Quetta to Kharan. Accompanying him were police constable and gunman Mohammad Yousuf, police driver Peerak, and a guest named Nasrullah, all of whom were also abducted during the incident.
In a separate incident, armed men set up a roadblock near Panjpai in Quetta and abducted three police personnel who were on their way to attend a wedding. The attack was sudden and left the police officers helpless as they were forcibly taken away at gunpoint.
Additionally, Abdul Rasool Sumalani, a police officer from Mastung, was abducted from the Daringarh area on the same day. These incidents reflect a pattern of targeted abductions, which have become increasingly frequent and alarming in the region.
On Tuesday, Baghbana Police Station in Khuzdar was attacked by armed men, who set the station on fire. The attack resulted in injuries to two police personnel, including SHO Muneer Alam Jattak. The incident further exemplifies the deteriorating law and order situation in Balochistan.
At the time of this report, no group has claimed responsibility for the abductions or the attack on Baghbana Police Station. The rising number of such incidents continues to threaten the security and stability of the region, leaving residents and officials anxious about the future.
