Two Baloch women are among at least three individuals reported missing after being taken into custody by Pakistani security forces in separate incidents in Balochistan, according to families and human rights organizations.
In Khuzdar district, local sources identified a man named Naveed, son of Ramzan Qambarani, who was detained by Pakistani forces on December 13 from the Naal area. He was subsequently transferred to an undisclosed location, and his family has reported that they have had no information about his whereabouts since his arrest.
Separately, the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) reported that two women were forcibly disappeared during an overnight raid in Hub Chowki. The women, identified as Hani Dilwash, 27, who is reportedly eight months pregnant, and Khair-un-Nisa Wahid, 17, were taken from the Gangee Goth area near Daroo Hotel around 3:00 am on Saturday. Both women are residents of the Singabad Karki area of Tejaban in Kech district.
Family members of the women told media outlets that Pakistani forces raided a house early Saturday morning and detained the two women without presenting arrest warrants or providing any information about their destination. Despite repeated attempts, relatives have been unable to obtain any details from authorities regarding their loved ones’ whereabouts.
The BYC emphasized that these incidents are part of a broader pattern of enforced disappearances in Balochistan, noting that several women have gone missing from the Hub area in recent weeks. The organization claims that at least eight Baloch women have disappeared this year, and none of them have been recovered or returned.
Official statements from security forces and state-aligned media offer a different account, claiming that the women detained in Hub were arrested during a counterterrorism operation. Authorities allege that Khair-un-Nisa was involved in planning a suicide attack, while Hani Dilwash was described as a facilitator. They also reported the arrest of a third individual, Fareed, from the Tejaban area of Kech district.
Amid these incidents, human rights groups have expressed growing concern over the rising number of missing women in Balochistan. Reports indicate that other women, such as Hazra, a 27-year-old detained along with her two-year-old son, and Nasreen Baloch, a 15-year-old girl taken into custody in November, remain unaccounted for. These cases highlight ongoing fears about enforced disappearances and the lack of transparency surrounding the detention of Baloch women.
