Four individuals, including senior officials from the University of Gwadar, were reportedly abducted in the Mastung district of Balochistan, according to local and official sources. The victims include the university’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Abdul Razzaq Sabir, the Pro Vice Chancellor Syed Manzoor Ahmed, lecturer Shakeel Ahmed, and their driver.
Sources indicated that the abduction took place on Tuesday evening in the Khadkucha area of Mastung. Unidentified armed men, believed to be traveling on motorcycles, had set up a roadblock in the area, which led to the vehicle carrying the four men being stopped.
The armed men reportedly took the victims to an undisclosed location shortly after the vehicle was halted. The incident has raised concerns among local authorities and the community, given the prominent positions held by the abducted individuals.
A government official confirmed the incident and stated that security forces along with district authorities had launched a search operation to recover the abducted individuals. The motive behind the abduction has not yet been determined, and investigations are ongoing.
