The central spokesperson of Baloch Students Organization Azad expressed serious concern over the increase in cases of forced disappearances of Baloch students from Kech, Karachi, Gwadar and different areas of Balochistan in recent days and said that the occupying Pakistani forces always target Baloch students.
In recent days, the increase in cases of forced disappearances of Baloch students across Balochistan is a link in this chain. By arresting the students extrajudicially and subjecting them to forced disappearance for years, unsuccessful attempts are made to create fear and panic among the youth so as to keep the Baloch youth away from the national, and intellectual struggle.
The spokesman said that during an illegal raid in Kech recently, two Baloch students were illegally picked from Turbat and transferred to an unknown location. A young man named Ikram has been recovered while another young man named Salim Baloch is still missing and no information has been provided to the family so far. In another similar incident, Meraj Aslam, a resident of Pasni, was picked up from Karachi and locked in jail and even after a month, he has not been brought to the public until now. In another incident, a young student from Gwadar has been subjected to forced abduction and brutal torture. Behind all these incidents, the occupying Pakistani army and intelligence agencies are involved in various other illicit activities in Balochistan. The recent increase in enforced disappearances of students is clearly showing the frustration of the state, which is facing a complete failure in the face of the Baloch resistance.
At the end of his statement, the spokesperson stressed on the international community and said that the Baloch youths are currently facing serious state brutality, the responsibility of their safety and security lies with the international community. Human rights organizations and civilized countries should bring the Pakistani state to justice for the ongoing serious human rights violations and crimes in Balochistan and ensure the safe recovery of the missing Baloch students.
