Caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan, Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar, emphasized that Pakistan is engaged in a crucial battle for the preservation of the state. Kakar expressed satisfaction with the connection between the people of Punjab and Balochistan, noting that the former empathizes with the struggles of the Baloch people. Despite being a temporary prime minister, Kakar, who hails from Balochistan, acknowledged that fingers are pointed at him due to his regional affiliation.
Addressing ongoing protests by relatives and anticipating future demonstrations, Kakar asserted the right to freedom of opinion and peaceful protest, emphasizing the importance of staying within the constitutional framework. He drew parallels with previous incidents, such as the protests on May 9, highlighting the need for such movements to remain lawful.
Kakar framed the challenges in Balochistan as a dispute between the state and armed organizations. He underscored that Pakistan has been actively combating these elements, attributing the violence in Balochistan to armed groups that have claimed the lives of thousands of people. He characterized these armed entities as labeling their activities as a “struggle” while, in reality, supporting terrorism under the guise of protest.
