The strike was organized by the Baloch Women Forum (BWF) following the deaths of Naeem Baloch, son of Sanjar Baloch, and an elderly woman named Hoori Baloch in the Malaar Machhi area. The protest highlighted growing anger and frustration among residents over ongoing violence and state repression in the region.
According to local sources, Pakistani forces raided several homes around 1:00 AM on Tuesday, opening fire when residents resisted attempts to arrest a young man. During the operation, an elderly woman, Dadi Baloch, was critically wounded. The incident sparked outrage among the community, with many viewing the use of force as excessive and unjustified. The BWF condemned the killings, describing the incident as an “extrajudicial execution,” and emphasized that such violence was part of a disturbing pattern in the area.
The Baloch Women Forum (BWF) issued a strong statement condemning the killings, criticizing state institutions for allegedly operating with “free rein” to use force without legal justification. The group described the situation as “extremely alarming” and called for urgent intervention. They accused authorities of targeting civilians and suppressing Baloch resistance, which they argued was part of a broader campaign to silence dissent and erase Baloch identity.
The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) also condemned the incident, stating that Naeem Baloch and his aunt, Hoori Bibi, were “shot and killed” by Pakistani forces. The BYC highlighted a history of violence against the Baloch family, mentioning that in 2015, Naeem’s other aunt, Gohar Baloch, was killed in an airstrike along with seven relatives. The group further claimed that Naeem was forcibly disappeared in 2023, and his mother, who was wounded in the latest attack, has previously been detained, underscoring a pattern of state violence against the family.
Both organizations called for international action, appealing to the United Nations and global human rights organizations to conduct “independent and transparent investigations” into these incidents. They warned that such killings are not isolated but part of a broader state policy aimed at erasing Baloch resistance, identity, and existence. The groups criticized the silence of national media on these issues and urged global attention to the ongoing human rights abuses in Balochistan, emphasizing the urgent need for justice and accountability.
