The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has announced that demonstrations and sit-ins will take place across Balochistan on Sunday, April 13, in response to the ongoing arrests of its central leadership, which it describes as part of a systematic state-led crackdown on the organization.
In a press statement, the BYC affirmed that its leaders and members remain steadfast in their ideological beliefs and national goals, despite what they characterize as “relentless state repression and brutality.” The group asserted that over the past twenty days, the Baloch community has been engaged in active protests, highlighting the collective resilience and unity of the population.
“The Baloch nation has demonstrated remarkable unity during this challenging and sensitive time,” the statement emphasized. “Our resistance against state oppression is conducted in an organized and disciplined manner.”
The BYC urged all regional zones to prepare for the protests on April 13 and to ensure that the demonstrations are executed in a coordinated and strategic manner. They noted that this approach would not only confront the ongoing suppression but also reaffirm the people’s commitment to democratic resistance.
The committee strongly condemned what it termed as “state fascism and savagery,” asserting that no level of coercion could undermine the ideological foundations or morale of BYC’s leadership and cadre.
“We will combat this brutality through the strength of the people’s resistance,” the statement concluded. “We firmly believe that this oppressive system can and will be overcome by public strength.”
