BLF reports over 24 hours of clashes at Nokkundi Compound and unveils details of ‘SOB’ unit

Clashes between fighters of the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) and Pakistani military forces have persisted for over twenty-four hours within a significant compound in Nokkundi, Chagai district, according to the group.

In a media statement, BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch reported that fighters from the Saddo Operational Battalion (SOB) initiated the attack at 8:19 p.m. on Sunday. The assault targeted what the group described as the main residential and office complex for foreign engineers and staff involved with the Saindak and Reko Diq mining projects.

The BLF claimed that its fighters successfully entered the compound shortly after the initial attack and have maintained control for the past day, despite repeated efforts by Pakistani forces to regain it. The group also stated that Pakistani military units attempted to advance using ground routes and helicopters, but these efforts were repelled.

According to the BLF, Pakistani forces withdrew after facing resistance, and they claimed to have thwarted all enemy objectives so far. Pakistani authorities have not issued any comments regarding these claims.

The BLF emphasized that the attack sends a clear message to Pakistan, its foreign allies, and exploitative corporations that Balochistan’s natural resources rightfully belong to the Baloch people. The group warned that without acknowledging Baloch ownership and sovereignty over land and resources, no major power or company would be permitted to collaborate with Pakistan to exploit Baloch resources.

In a separate detailed statement, the BLF outlined the structure, goals, and ideological principles behind its newly formed Saddo Operational Battalion (SOB), describing it as a key development in the group’s operational expansion.

Major Gwahram Baloch explained that the SOB embodies the BLF’s “practical expression of operational capability and organizational discipline,” founded on an ideology rooted in “sacrifice, principle, courage, and unwavering resolve.” The group sees the battalion as an evolutionary shift in its organizational structure, designed to strike targets “where the opposing force does not expect it.”

The BLF stated that the SOB marks the first step in broadening its operational capacity in response to regional shifts. The group emphasized that the philosophy of “self-sacrifice” is not merely reactive but a mature ideological stance adopted by the youth, who prioritize national survival over personal safety in pursuit of an independent Balochistan.

The organization regards the SOB as a disciplined force equipped to challenge Pakistani military strength, which the BLF alleges is supported by powerful, resource-hungry expansionist nations. Bringing capable youth under strict organizational discipline, the group claims, is essential for dismantling the occupying military infrastructure in Balochistan.

The BLF named the battalion after Commander Waja Saddo (Sadath Marri), whom it describes as a pivotal figure in the early 2000s during the current phase of Baloch nationalist resistance. Waja Saddo is credited with providing ideological and military training, shaping the resistance movement, and advocating for sacrifice and perseverance as the path to freedom. His teachings emphasized that liberation is achieved through struggle, not mere hope or dreams.

The group sees Waja Saddo’s name as representing not just an individual but an entire institution. Every member of the SOB, according to the BLF, carries forward his ideological legacy and views their weapons as symbols of freedom, not just tools of defense.

The BLF states that the battalion will focus on “strategically significant targets,” especially infrastructure that the group claims forms part of Pakistan’s military and economic extraction framework. The unit aims to conduct operations that challenge and destabilize such structures, pushing back enemy forces and strengthening the broader armed resistance.

The organization describes the SOB as part of a larger strategy to reorganize and centralize its military wings, enabling coordinated efforts to expand capabilities. The formation of the battalion is seen as a step toward building a more professional, disciplined fighting force committed to the long-term goal of establishing a “free, sovereign, and dignified state.” The BLF affirms that the SOB will continue its resistance until freedom is achieved.
