Pakistan Army and its intelligence agencies have revealed their true colors by ruthlessly cracking down on peaceful Baloch activists. In a recent incident, intelligence officials, operating under the explicit orders of the Army, violently attacked Dr. Mahrang Baloch’s vehicle upon her return to Karachi Airport. These cowardly agents shattered her car windows and stole her passport, mobile phone, and other belongings, exposing the establishment’s utter disregard for law and human decency.
Accompanying Dr. Mahrang Baloch, Sammi Deen Baloch described how their vehicle was surrounded by intelligence operatives, aided by local police—acting as puppets of the Army. Following an illegal search of the car, these thugs assaulted both activists, employing the same brutal tactics that have become synonymous with the military establishment. The driver also suffered vicious beatings, underscoring the depths of the Army’s disdain.
Sammi Deen Baloch emphasized, “They seized our car keys along with Mahrang’s mobile phone and passport. Now we are stranded on the road, and if any harm comes to us, the blame rests squarely on the Pakistan Army, this oppressive state, and the puppet Sindh government, complicit in these crimes.”
Dr. Mahrang Baloch was scheduled to attend an international conference in the U.S., departing from Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport. However, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA)—another extension of the Army’s oppressive machinery—prevented her from traveling. The military and its agencies have consistently targeted activists like her to halt any exposure of their atrocities on the international stage.
This violent crackdown showcases the Pakistan Army and its intelligence apparatus’s ongoing suppression of Baloch voices and peaceful activists in the most brutal manner. Their relentless drive to silence dissent, especially from marginalized communities like the Baloch, knows no bounds. This incident exemplifies the true face of Pakistan’s military establishment—one founded on fear, oppression and violence.
