Residents of Zahoor Colony in Dalbandin organized a protest on Tuesday following the alleged detention of a local brother and sister by Pakistan Army personnel. According to reports from the community, the security forces took the siblings into custody on Monday and then transferred them to an undisclosed location. Their current whereabouts remain unknown, sparking fear and outrage among the residents.
The detained individuals have been identified as Zubair, son of Mohammad Rahim, and Rahima, daughter of Mohammad Rahim. Witnesses and local sources claim that security personnel conducted searches across multiple houses during the operation. Some residents also reported incidents of harassment and rough treatment by the security forces during the searches.
In response to the incident, the residents staged a protest along the highway, demanding the immediate release of the detained individuals and transparency regarding their whereabouts. The demonstration reflects growing concern among the community members over the increasing number of enforced disappearances in the region.
This incident is not isolated; it follows a similar case involving Mahjabeen Baloch and her brother Younus, who were detained earlier this year. While Younus was eventually released, Mahjabeen remains missing, and her family continues to seek information about her fate. Such cases have heightened fears and frustrations among the Baloch community.
In another troubling development, Nasreen Baloch was reportedly detained in Hub Chowki and has not been seen since. Her family has stated that they have received no updates regarding her condition or location. These recurring cases of disappearances, particularly involving Baloch women, have significantly contributed to the growing public concern and unrest in Balochistan.
