Pakistani security forces have reportedly abducted four Baloch men from the districts of Kech and Barkhan in Balochistan, according to local sources. The missing individuals have been identified as Mehran Baloch, Nizam Baloch, Abdul Rehman Sailani, and Adnan, son of Ghafoor. Their families and community members remain concerned about their sudden disappearance, which has sparked widespread outrage.
Sources indicate that Mehran Baloch and Nizam Baloch were detained by Pakistani forces in the Sarnakan area of Kech district. Despite efforts to locate them, their current whereabouts are unknown, raising fears of enforced disappearance. Similarly, Abdul Rehman Sailani was reportedly taken into custody on July 15 in the Rakhni area of Barkhan district, with no information provided about his detention or location.
In a separate incident, Adnan, son of Ghafoor, was detained by security personnel on Sunday night from the Darchko area of Dasht in Kech district. Like the others, he was transferred to an undisclosed location, and his family has not been informed of his condition or whereabouts. These incidents highlight the ongoing pattern of enforced disappearances carried out by security forces in the region.
Cases of enforced disappearances are reported almost daily across Balochistan, prompting protests from families and human rights advocates. Families of the missing persons, along with leaders of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), have been staging a protest in Islamabad for over ten days, demanding their loved ones’ immediate release. During this period, reports of harassment and intimidation of protesting families have also emerged, further exacerbating tensions in the region.
