Six of the seven men abducted earlier this week in Balochistan’s Kech district were found dead on Thursday, each bearing gunshot wounds, according to police reports. The bodies were recovered from the Nasirabad area, raising concerns about the ongoing violence and insecurity in the region.
The abduction occurred on Tuesday when unidentified armed men blocked the Turbat-Mand Road in the Kalatuk area of Kech district. The seven men, who were traveling in a vehicle at the time, were forcibly taken away by the armed men. The incident has heightened fears among local communities and authorities about the presence of militant or criminal groups operating in the area.
Shortly after the abduction, one of the men was shot and killed, while the remaining six were taken to an undisclosed location. The police later identified the six bodies recovered from Nasirabad as those of the victims abducted earlier, confirming their tragic fate. All six victims had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, indicating a brutal and violent end.
Officials revealed that among the deceased, four were from Punjab and two hailed from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The diversity of their origins suggests that the victims may have been targeted for specific reasons or were caught in broader regional conflicts. An investigation into the killings is currently underway to determine the motives and those responsible for the incident.
As of now, no group has claimed responsibility for the abduction and murders. Authorities continue to investigate the case, and the incident has added to the ongoing security challenges faced by the region. The community remains watchful, awaiting further developments in this troubling case.
