Students in Khuzdar organized a peaceful march to protest the closure of the Digital Library, which they said has severely impacted their ability to study and access educational resources. The march saw the participation of students, teachers, and local residents who united to voice their concerns and demand action. The protesters emphasized that their campaign was peaceful and aimed solely at safeguarding their educational rights.
During the march, the district administration responded by locking the main entrance of the library, preventing students from entering. Some participants also reported being subjected to alleged mistreatment by officials, which further heightened tensions. Despite these actions, the protesters maintained their composure and reiterated their commitment to a peaceful demonstration.
The closure of the library has forced students to sit and study along the roadside, a situation they described as “extremely regrettable and concerning.” This disruption has hindered their academic progress and created an environment of uncertainty regarding their educational future. The students conveyed their disappointment over the decision, emphasizing that it has negatively affected their learning process.
The protesters clarified that they had no personal disputes with any individual or institution involved in the library’s closure. Their sole demand is the protection of their fundamental educational rights, which they believe are being violated by the closure. They called on authorities to intervene and ensure that the library’s operations are resumed without delay.
The students appealed directly to the Balochistan chief minister, the commissioner of Kalat Division, and other relevant authorities to take immediate notice of the issue. They urged them to act swiftly to reopen the library and restore normal educational activities. The protesters warned that if their demands were not met, they would stage a peaceful protest on the main highway the following day.
In conclusion, the students warned that the continued closure of the Digital Library would have serious consequences. They held the district administration responsible for any fallout resulting from the ongoing disruption and emphasized their willingness to continue their peaceful protests until their educational rights are recognized and protected.
