The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) and Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) claimed responsibility for a series of attacks targeting Pakistani forces and installations in various parts of Balochistan. The attacks occurred in the regions of Awaran, Jhao, Basima, and Sibi, highlighting the ongoing unrest in the area.
According to BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch, fighters ambushed a Pakistani military convoy in the Kolwah area of Awaran on April 22. He stated that the convoy was moving between two military camps when it was targeted in the attack.
Major Baloch explained that the fighters encircled the convoy in the Geshkour area, situated between Sahar and Grari. They launched a heavy assault using rocket launchers, light machine guns (LMGs), and sniper rifles against the convoy.
He claimed that six Pakistani military personnel were killed during the ambush, and several others sustained injuries. Additionally, the attack caused significant damage to the military vehicles involved.
On the same day, BLF fighters also targeted a Frontier Corps (FC) snap-checking point located in front of Basima Police Station. The attack involved the use of a hand grenade that landed inside a vehicle, resulting in casualties and extensive damage.
The group further claimed responsibility for an attack carried out on April 19 at a military checkpoint in the Gajro Singeen area of Jhao. According to their statement, multiple personnel were killed and injured during this operation.
In a separate development, BRG spokesperson Dostain Baloch reported that fighters took control of a police post in the Lamji area of Sibi. They seized weapons, vehicles, and other equipment during this operation.
Dostain Baloch added that the detained personnel were later released after being warned. He also mentioned that fighters set up a blockade on the Quetta–Karachi highway, conducting vehicle searches and challenging Pakistani forces.
Clashes erupted when Pakistani forces moved towards the area, leading to prolonged exchanges of fire. The firefights resulted in casualties on both sides, though Pakistani authorities did not issue an immediate comment on the incidents.
