Family members of individuals forcibly disappeared from various regions in Balochistan continue to arrive at the camp.
The protest also includes family members of Dur Muhammad Masoori, who has been a victim of forced disappearance since 2014. His family members express that approximately two hundred families in Dera Bugti wish to join the Islamabad sit-in, but they are facing threats from state authorities. The authorities are warning that if they participate in the sit-in, their loved ones will face harm.
Dr. Mahrang Baloch reported that more than seventy families of victims of enforced disappearance are currently present at the Islamabad sit-in, and the numbers are increasing day by day. Additionally, more family members from Balochistan are reaching out to participate in the sit-in.
He emphasized that this serves as a powerful message to those who previously claimed that “the number of missing persons is few.”
The gathering of so many family members in Islamabad, hundreds of kilometers away from Balochistan, suggests that the actual number of victims of forced disappearance in the villages and towns of Balochistan is likely much higher than anticipated.
