The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has released a statement denouncing what they term as the harassment of the families of individuals killed during the Baloch National Gathering (Baloch Raaji Muchi). They allege that Pakistani intelligence agencies and certain members of the provincial assembly are pressuring these families regarding the filing of First Information Reports (FIRs).
In their recent media announcement, the BYC conveyed deep concerns over these actions, calling for an end to what they refer to as “reprehensible tactics.” They emphasized the ongoing crisis in Balochistan, asserting that state violence and repression are pushing the population’s patience to its breaking point. “The people’s tolerance for this tyranny and oppression is dwindling, and millions are prepared to take to the streets to uproot this oppressive system,” the statement declared.
The BYC also cautioned provincial assembly members against competing in their loyalty to the state for personal gain. “Those assembly members who endorse oppression against their own people for the sake of a seat and privileges are committing a social injustice and may face severe public backlash,” the BYC warned.
It is important to mention that Pakistani security forces opened fire on convoys traveling to the Baloch National Gathering, resulting in the deaths of three BYC supporters. The BYC is now demanding that FIRs be filed against the personnel responsible for these actions.
