The recent Gwadar devastations, owing to several so-called mega projects in the flimsy CPEC city, have been no secret to anyone. Apart from suffering from various health issues and material losses, Gwadar has sunk into the tensions of homelessness. The 2024 floods have further revealed the state of no attention towards the natives of the city, who have been subjected to negligence for decades. Observing the need to support the people and stand by them in the given harsh time, the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) reached the region, visited all the affected areas, made a detailed report of the destructions (which was also shared in a presser earlier), and initiated the 3-day Unity Campaign across the Baloch regions, while urged people from across the world to put forward their support. At the culmination of the Unity Campaign, we are scheduling an Awareness Session to bring the consciousness of the people about the causes and effects of the floods.
This Awareness Session is the outcome of the in-person surveys of all the affected regions and interactions with the people during the last several days. It provides brief details on several natural phenomena and artificial loopholes resulting in disastrous floods in Gwadar. Not involving themselves and other forces behind the strong wave of climate change, the people seem to throw everything in nature’s purse. Through this session, we will let you know of the various technicalities of Climate Change along with several Standards Operating Procedures (SOPs). Apart from the nature-hitting, people of these areas have averted a sense of distance with wrong and fatal state policies of constructing the city.
We term this session very crucial to know principal things about how floods resonate massive ruins for the people in Gwadar. Above all, facts will be unveiled about how we usually wrongly name everything in nature while indirectly defending the artificial forces, including incorrect state schemes, for their involvement. This session is important for you to attend so that it becomes imperative in the future to deal with various matters related to the construction, self-portrayed mega projects and foggy thoughts on Gwadar’s development accordingly. We ask everyone in Gwadar and the surrounding area to join us in the scheduled Awareness Session to become a beacon of hope for unity and stand with the affected families when they need us the most.
In the 21st century where everything is so clearly visible, still being unbeknownst to the key factors and not making the relevant forces accountable for their misdeeds is the biggest misfortune.
