Pakistani security forces have initiated a large-scale search operation in Noshki, involving house-to-house searches and increased movement restrictions throughout the city, according to local sources. The operation has seen a significant deployment of security personnel entering residential areas, with a focus on Qaziabad, where numerous homes are being searched as part of the ongoing efforts. Authorities have also set up checkpoints at various locations to monitor and control movement within the city.
Residents reported that security vehicles were actively patrolling different parts of Noshki, and strict checking procedures were enforced at entry and exit points. Vehicles attempting to enter or leave the city are being subjected to thorough searches, adding to the heightened security measures. These activities have caused disruptions to daily life and heightened concerns among the local population.
The operation is taking place amid the enforcement of a curfew that remains in effect in Noshki. The restrictions were initially imposed following attacks attributed to the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), a pro-independence group, during the second phase of their “Operation Herof” on January 31. Since then, security forces have intensified their presence and activities in the region to maintain control and prevent further violence.
Local residents have expressed frustration over the prolonged enforcement measures, which have continued for several days after the initial six-day takeover reported during the operation. The security activities have significantly impacted daily routines, with many feeling the restrictions are disrupting normal life and economic activities across the city.
Meanwhile, citizens, traders, and transporters have appealed to authorities to revisit the ongoing operations and restrictions. They have called for immediate relief, emphasizing the need to ease travel and economic restrictions ahead of Ramadan. The community fears that the continued security measures are severely hampering economic activity and daily life, and they urge the government to take steps to alleviate these hardships.
